World Aquatics has finalised the dates for the World Aquatics Swimming Championships (25m) in Budapest, with the event set to take place from 10 to 15 December.

Historic sporting event in Budapest!

The Hungarian Swimming Federation and the city of Budapest will be the first in the world to achieve the “Aquatic Grand Slam”, so to host the four most important  swimming/aquatics events in the sport: the World Aquatics Championships (2017, 2022), the Swimming World Cup (2018, 2019, 2021, 2023), the World Junior Swimming Championships (2019) and the World Aquatics Swimming Championships (25m) in December 2024. Launched in 1993, World Aquatics Swimming Championships (25)is the second most important World Aquatics event, which this year will offer swimming enthusiasts an amazing experience and a line-up of world-class athletes before Christmas.

Host

The event will be held in the Duna Arena which, with various developments, has become Hungary’s most outstanding sports and event centre, providing experience-rich entertainment for thousands of people.  Fans of the sport will be catered to by a world-class swimming and water sports complex, with two Olympic-size pools and a capacity of over 5,300 spectators during competitions.

Host

The event will be held in the Duna Arena which, with various developments, has become Hungary’s most outstanding sports and event centre, providing experience-rich entertainment for thousands of people.  Fans of the sport will be catered to by a world-class swimming and water sports complex, with two Olympic-size pools and a capacity of over 5,300 spectators during competitions.

Public transport

By buses 15 and 115 (get off at the Dagály Bath stop), from the direction of Árpád Bridge by tram 1 (the entrance is about 8-10 minutes on foot from the nearest stop).

Parking

In Népfürdő utca and in the parking lot opposite the Dagály Bath.

By bike

There is a newly established bike path from Kossuth tér along the Danube bank, all the way to the Duna Arena.

2024 will be a special year for (aquatics)/swimming enthusiasts in many ways as – in unprecedented fashion – the World Championships (February, Doha), the European Championships (June, Belgrade), the Olympics (July/August, Paris) and then at the end of the year, the World Aquatics Swimming Championships (25m) 10-15 December, Budapest are to be held in the same calendar year. Many of our beloved swimmers will be saying goodbye in front of a home crowd, meaning that in addition to the world's best swimmers, Hungarian fans will be able to see Bogi Kapás and the Verrasztó brothers one last time in the pool of the Duna Arena. Come and let’s cheer them on as many of us as possible, and thank you for your support.
